アメリカン・エキスプレス社との協働プロジェクトの一環として、
米国の環境NGO「オーシャンコンサーバンシー」から2名のスタッフを迎え、
荒川の清掃活動をしました。

アメリカン・エキスプレス、オーシャンコンサーバンシー、そして私たち荒川クリーンエイド・フォーラムの3団体が力を合わせ、
河川敷のごみを回収。国際的なチームワークのもと、プラスチックごみを始めたとした人工系ごみ約140kgを取り除くことができました。

Ocean Conservancy:
オーシャンコンサーバンシー（Ocean Conservancy）は、アメリカの環境NGOで、海洋環境の保全を目的とした活動をしています。
主な取り組みには、プラスチックごみの削減、海洋生態系の保全、持続可能な漁業の推進、気候変動への対応などがあります。
「国際海岸クリーンアップ（International Coastal Cleanup）」という世界規模の調べる清掃活動が有名です。

Arakawa River Cleanup: A Global Collaboration

On 12th April 2025, Arakawa Clean-aid Forum teamed up with American Express and welcomed two staff members from the U.S.-based environmental NGO, Ocean Conservancy, for a collaborative river cleanup project.

Representatives from American Express, Ocean Conservancy, and our organization joined forces to collect trash along the Arakawa River.
Thanks to this international teamwork, we were able to remove a significant amount of plastic waste and other litter from the riverbank.

It was a meaningful day that connected local efforts with global environmental action. We look forward to continuing these partnerships to protect and preserve the Arakawa River.

Ocean Conservancy is a U.S.-based environmental NGO dedicated to protecting the ocean environment. Its key initiatives include reducing plastic pollution, conserving marine ecosystems, promoting sustainable fisheries, and addressing climate change. One of its most well-known efforts is the International Coastal Cleanup, a global campaign to remove trash from coastlines around the world.
